Commission on Cancer at Wayne HealthCare
The Commission on Cancer is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education, and the monitoring of comprehensive quality care. The Commission on Cancer accredits approximately 1,500 cancer programs in the United States. Accreditation requires that cancer programs meet all of the standards of the Commission on Cancer.
Established by the American College of Surgeons, the multidisciplinary Commission on Cancer establishes standards to ensure quality, comprehensive cancer care delivery in healthcare settings. The Commission on Cancer conducts surveys in healthcare settings to assess compliance with those standards.
Wayne HealthCare is currently working toward being a COC approved cancer program.
We are committed to assuring that our cancer patients receive quality care, close to home. This includes access to cancer-related information such as education, support, and clinical trials. In addition, patients are now also able to receive their chemotherapy in the Ambulatory Care Center. Our chemotherapy chairs are of the highest quality to ensure our patients' comfort, and our ambulatory care nurses have all been trained in chemotherapy and biotherapy.
Our Mission...
To provide exceptional healthcare that’s conveniently available close to home, and in an environment that sincerely values our patients as people — helping them to lead healthier lives
