Wayne Hospital Laboratory
Wayne Hospital Laboratory offers Darke County a full service laboratory, including a wide range of tests in the areas of chemistry, hematology, serology, microbiology, blood banking, anatomical pathology and cytology. These tests are available to both inpatients and outpatients. Certified by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations and the American Association of Blood Banks, the laboratory is headed by a pathologist and managed by a professional with a Bachelor of Science degree. It is staffed by professional, certified, quality, friendly people - technologists with bachelor degrees and technicians with associate degrees.
Daily, we follow a set criteria of Quality Control to ensure valid results. We are monitored by ongoing testing of unknown specimens sent to us from various certifying agencies including the Ohio State Department of Health and College of American Pathologists. We have state-of-the-art equipment run by qualified professionals to insure accurate test results for our patients. Wayne Hospital Laboratory is committed to serving the community. We can perform any test requested by a local physician or an out of town doctor either at the hospital or by sending the specimen to our reference lab. We work directly with your physician to assure you that you receive quality patient care. If needed, patients may call the lab to receive information on preparation for certain tests. The Outpatient Laboratory has hours we feel are convenient to everyone - Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. -12 noon. The laboratory also educates the community with inservice programs to school children and the extended care facilities in our area. The collection of Pre-employment', random, post-accident and return-to-work drug screens and Breath Alcohol Tests for your place of employment can be done at our satellite laboratory.
