General Orientation
General Orientation is for all new employees & is designed to begin the orientation process to Wayne Hospital. General Orientation is usually scheduled the first Monday of every month.
Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (CPR)
CPR Certification
This class follows the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines & is for the employee who has
never taken CPR or has an expired card.
CPR Recertification
This AHA web-based e learning provides renewal in CPR. This program includes a series of modules
that covers all required sequences & also an exam online. Employees who successfully complete the
online portion receive a certificate for a skill-validation session.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support
ACLS Provider
This class follows the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines & is for the employee who has
never taken this course or has an expired card.
ACLS Recertification
This AHA CD-based e learning uses microsimulation technology to present realistic patient scenarios.
Students are presented with 10 ACLS core cases in hospital-based scenarios. Successful completion
of CD-based cognitive component, paired with a face to face check-off is all that is required.
This course is for the employee who has a current ACLS card.
Nursing Orientation
Nursing Orientation is designed for nurses starting their employment at Wayne Hospital. This orientation process is for the new graduate nurse or for the nurse returning to hospital work after raising children or etc…. Nursing Orientation also includes an Intern program. The Intern program provides additional didactic classes usually scheduled in the summer months. Every new nurse is scheduled to work side by side with another nurse preceptor during the orientation process.
The Advanced Series for Practicing Medical Professionals
These classes are designed for nurses & other medical personnel in clinical practice who want to update & enhance existing skills &/or develop a new core of knowledge. All sessions incorporate pathophysiology, assessment/diagnostics, interventions, & pharmacology. Case studies, rhythm strips & 12-lead ECGs are used throughout the courses to enhance learning. All sessions are interactive & encourage critical thinking to impact patient outcomes. Free to Wayne Hospital employees.
