Wayne Hospital's emergency department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week with physicians and nurses who are specially trained to respond to medical emergencies and potentially life threatening situations.
Urgent Care
Our emergency services are designed to meet all medical and surgical emergencies that may arise. EMS personnel are able to communicate with our physician and hospital staff prior to your actual arrival. In an emergency,
it's important to contact your physician first if at all possible and know any current patient medications and allergies.
Non-Urgent Care may be accessed via our Emergency Center. However, care could be delayed as Urgent Care patients take priority.
We encourage you to see your personal physician for all non-urgent care because the cost of emergency room care is high. This high cost
is due to the specialized state-of-the-art equipment, medical technology and highly skilled personnel who are required to be in an
emergency room.
Consent for Treatment
For emergencies involving children under 18, parents must be present to authorize treatment or must have a completed consent for
treatment on-hand with the child's care provider (see Emergency Center for a copy) or download this PDF.
