Why shouldn't I do this as an inpatient?
Utilizing the Ambulatory Care Center is more cost-effective. Most insurances would not cover these
procedures as an inpatient, and your treatment can be completed more quickly in this setting.
What if I don't understand what's happening?
Knowledgable staff will answer your questions. Be sure to call us prior to your procedure so we can
answer your questions. It is your right to understand what is happening.
What can my family do while waiting?
Family members are welcome in the pre-procedure and post-procedure areas with you. During the
procedure they are welcome in our waiting area where we will provide coffee and juice.
Is the nursing staff qualified to handle emergencies?
Yes, all nurses are ACLS certified, which means they are specially trained to handle emergency
situations and are tested on their knowledge regularly.
Is this covered by Medicare? Medicaid?
Wayne Hospital participates in the Medicare and Ohio Medicaid, TRICARE, and Bureau of Worker's
Compensation programs. Please check with your individual insurance carrier to see what requirements
they may have or if they participate with Wayne Hospital.

My doctor suggested I contact you about pain management. What are you going to do to help me?
Our pain management program is staffed by an anesthesiologist trained in pain management who will
review your case and recommend treatment options. Treatment may range from oral medication to
injections of steroid medications. Your doctor must make the referral to our pain management services.
What if I have an allergic reaction to something?
Our nursing staff is trained to handle emergency situations and the center is fully stocked with
